At Viceroy Dental Clinic, we offer the following services for restorative care:

What are Dental Implants and Why Should I Choose Them?

Dental implants are titanium posts that serve as artificial tooth roots in the place of a missing tooth. When surgically inserted into the jaw, these posts will fuse with living tissue and bone in a process called osseointegration.

It’s because of this fusing that dental implants can help restore jawbone health and volume by providing the essential stimulation it needs to stay functional. After the healing phase of about four to six months is complete, the implant posts are ready to have a crown, a bridge, or denture attached.

Implant-supported restorations can help restore teeth by:

  • Using a crown to replace a single missing tooth
  • Using a bridge or partial denture to restore one to several missing teeth
  • Full dentures to restore multiple up to an entire smile of missing teeth

Can Anyone Get Implants?

Typically, anyone healthy enough to undergo a routine dental extraction or oral surgery can be considered for dental implant placement. However, you should have healthy gums and enough jawbone density to hold the implant securely in place. After treatment, it is important to be committed to good oral hygiene and regular dental visits.

What are My Options for Restoring Dental Damage and Aesthetics?

Dr. Ji and her team provide the following options for helping rejuvenate your smile:

Fillings

A filling is a way to restore function and shape to a tooth damaged by decay. When our dentist gives you a filling, she removes the decayed tooth material, cleans the impacted region, then fills the cleaned cavity with a durable filling material.

Inlays and Onlays

Dental inlays help repair the chewing surface of your tooth. Restorations considered an “inlay” are when the material is bonded in the center of a tooth. And, when the restoration is dubbed an “onlay,” the extent of the damage requires repairing of one or more cusps of the tooth or full coverage of the biting surface.

Crowns

If a large part of the tooth has been harmed by decay or fracture, it may be suggested to use a crown. A crown is a restoration that "caps" a tooth to restore it to its normal shape and size, feel, and appearance.

Veneers

Veneers are thin, porcelain shells that are applied to the front surface of your teeth to help enhance their appearance. The veneer is bonded to the front of the tooth to change the color, shape, size, or length.

Caring for Your Repaired Smile

After your restorative procedure is complete, it’s important to take care of your smile. We recommend limiting the consumption of alcohol, as well as staying diligent with a fibrous and nutritional diet. We suggest mouthguards if you grind or clench your teeth or when engaging in sports activities. Avoid using your teeth as tools, chewing on ice, pencils, and biting your nails.

Last but certainly not least – it is always highly-recommended to keep up with a strong oral hygiene routine and continue to visit us every six months for preventive care.
